Community Councils are voluntary organisations that represent the views and concerns of local people on a wide range of issues. The Plockton & District Community Council represents some 495 residents over 21 km², including Achnandarach, Duirinish, Drumbuie, Duncraig and Craig. The Community Council meets regularly and residents of the area are welcome to attend these public meetings held in the Plockton Village Hall.
The main objectives of the Community Council are to represent the views of the Community to the Highland Council and other public authorities, in particular in relation to planning and liquor licencing applications. However, Community Councils may also carry out other activities that are in the interests of the communities they represent, to promote the well-being of the community and to foster community spirit.
