Annual Show 2022

The Annual Show is one of the highlights of the year. It provides an opportunity for members to display their skills in flower and vegetable growing and numerous handicrafts.

The village hall is used for displays of flowers and handicrafts, and a marquee is erected to hold the usually plentiful displays of vegetables. The tea tent is filled with a good selection of baking, and it is a good opportunity to meet friends over a drink and a cake.

Entries are free to members and all children. There are financial prizes for the children.

This year there will be a new trophy, the Jamie Fraser Cup. This has been sponsored by Kyleakin Connections and will be open to anyone in the area with learning disabilities/difficulties.  The prize will be awarded for the best item of art or craftwork depicting the theme “Trees”. Entries in this class are free.
The theme for the Photography competition will also be “Trees”.

Because there is no Bulb & Baking show this year, 4 items in the Produce category will be included in the Summer Schedule.  These are 1 jar of Marmalade, 1 jar of Jam, 1 jar of Chutney and 1 jar of Pickle.  The Kyle Rosebowl Centenary trophy will be awarded to the winner of this Produce section.

In the “Home Grown Pot Plants” section, 1 pelargonium in flower has been removed.  A new category “Mixed Planter, pot not to exceed 18 inches in diameter” has been added.
